Cupcake Tuesdays :)

Last year there was a short period of time where my brother finished school early on Tuesdays and so he and I would make special trips to a delicious cupcake store in Bondi.
The guy who sold us cupcakes thought we were extremely odd to be so excited about our weekly cupcake trips.

The tradition of cupcake Tuesdays is something which I LOVE and have decided to continue.
Each Tuesday I shall endeavor to post a sweet, sweet treat that the eyes can devour.

A few more raindrops on roses.

Envelope acquired through an exciting trade at my last design market and a watercolour postcard by G which almost had a painted house but which now has a house of endless possibility.

Amazing Venetian mask from Elks which traveled in my bag from Mexico back home.

Awesome miniature story books that piece together to create a beautiful image. G gave me these for our anniversary and the concept is so inspiring I want to make some of my own someday soon.

A few of my favorite things.

Of course I am a huge fan of brown paper packages tied up with string as well but these are a few of my favorite things in my room right now.

Beautiful Akira textile hanging on wooden rod from Bali and cute little tea pot from G.

An origami flower I got at the Finder's Keeper's Markets on Friday :) A little emo red riding hood postcard I've been eyeing for a while and finally bought.

My inspiration wall filled with some of my favorite 2D things and a mexican skeleton with butterfly wings.

My craft monster which G bought me at the Hope St markets last year.

Sumptuous Knits.

The weather is icy today so I felt it appropriate to warm up with some Sandra Backlund knits. These are so amazing! Not an expert on knitting but they look insanely complex. I think they would be the perfect attire for a futuristic dystopia.

The Big Sleep.

Ultimate Depression being cheered up by those awesome blow up men/women/do they have a gender? Feeling a little like Mr. Black in the middle today. Yay for colourful blow up distraction. Finished reading The Big Sleep by Raymond Chandler and am dreaming of becoming a super cool private investigator like detective Marlowe. I shall begin by purchasing a super sexy trench coat perhaps. Everything else will naturally fall into place after that, I am sure of it ;)

This is a pretty goat.

These are our pretty boats :)

Moo-ness learnt how to make boats this evening so I got him to remind me how it's done. The prettiest was a little black one he made me which is now sitting on my monitor. Excellent distraction from essay :) 100% for boat making.

Takashi Iwasaki

Since the rainbow I am feeling drawn to all things rainbow-like. I absolutely love these embroideries by Takashi Iwasaki. They are so playful, I kinda wish I could buy them and cover my walls with them. For now I will just have to enjoy placing them on virtual walls.
