Vege Patch.

This Sunday Mr G and I indulged in an awesomely lazy day. 

I was feeling a little flu-ish and had a good book to read post-Christmas, so spent most of the morning on the couch reading.

We went for a walk down to Milsons Park with Alfie and visited the new community garden.

It was fantastic! Filled with amazing vege's and herbs.

I'm contemplating joining this Sunday or next :)

Christmas Past.

I made some little decorations for my Christmas tree/Christmas twig this year.

Having been completely obsessed with sewing little fabric hexagons (can't explain this odd phenomenon) I decided that my tree would need to be decorated with Christmas coloured hexagons :)

The adventures of Mr. G.

Mr. G has become a photo genius. He's getting really good at editing photos (usually with an evil/horror theme).

We opened champagne to celebrate all the good things that have been going on lately.

Alfie in the closet.

The first week in the new place was a bit disorientating.

Both Alf and I missed the comfort and familiarity of home.

Alfie decided that the linen closet was comfier than the bed, since the floor was covered in (familiar smelling) linen.

I caught him eying his new bed and then couldn't resist taking a photo of him all comfy in his little nook.

The Empty House.

After a couple of months of hectic activity I am finally starting to see a beautiful window of opportunity for more exciting adventures and many equally exciting posts.

A couple of weeks ago I moved into a beautiful house in Kirribilli.

I never truly realised how exhausting and intense moving house can be and now have a new-found respect for anyone who has ever moved/will ever move.

Apart from being a tiring workload, (with many boxes to fill and unpack on the other side) the excitement of the whole process makes moving extremely exhausting!

It was very sad to say goodbye to the old house which held so many special memories. We lived in the house for 10 years and it had been our only home in Australia since we immigrated. There are many exciting parts to moving but seeing the house empty and deserted is quite an eerie feeling. I took a couple of images to record our abandoned abode and to say a final goodbye.

There's also a photo of the Chandelier that I smashed with my head when jumping with Mr.G (don't ask!)

Knot-A-Rug

I'm extremely excited to reveal my completed rug!

The rug is both a game and a decorative display rug. Designed for use in shared housing, it splits into four. Each individual rug can be owned by different people. 

The purpose of the rug is to unite individuals that share a living space.

The rug is based on the board game 'Ludo' which is a 2-4 player game.

It will be on display at the COFA annual (24th to the 27th November) in the company of many exciting designer works.

Spring Cupcakes.

It's cupcake Tuesday. The perfect time to showcase the cupcakes from the Spring Fair on the weekend. I spent most of Friday baking and icing cupcakes. It was Rosh Hashanah on Friday night so I baked four batches in order to cater for both occasions. I think Mr G thought I was a little insane but stood by for moral support and provided awesome icing skills when my arm was tiring. The markets themselves were so much fun. Huge thanks to everyone who visited and made the day so special.

Gypsy wares.

I've been cutting and sewing felt for a couple of weeks in preparation for the COFA Spring fair coming up this Saturday. Here are a collection of the headbands and rings that I'll be selling. Super excited for the fair and for feeling like a gypsy girl once more :)

Taking Woodstock

Went to see Taking Woodstock last night after a highly traumatic day. It was a beautiful film and really made me want to become a hippy :)

Sometimes life is so fast paced I feel like I want to press the pause button for a while so that I can mentally and emotionally recharge for the next bit.

Not enough time to truly savour the good bits.

Cupcakes and Hot air balloons!

The Lemon cupcakes were successful, yay! I ended up buying mini patty pans and mini cupcake trays to make bite size ones. I iced them with lemon frosting and put lemon curd in their centres to make them extra tasty. This was all done around midnight on Tuesday. I got a bit delirious from excessive icing consumption. I've also attached an image of the hot air balloons I made for my sister's birthday.

Looking forward to making more cupcakes asap. Extremely therapeutic :)

Cupcake Midnight Tuesday.

It's cupcake Tuesday and I'm making some midnight cupcakes tonight. Am going to a screening of my brothers short film and as a result will be home late and need the cupcakes for the morning. Since I am no longer a morning person midnight cupcakes sounds far more appealing than crack of dawn cupcakes.

Will be sure to take documentary photography :)

Form accommodates function.

The antler theme continues today :) Elks and I use antlers as a visual metaphor of our personal strength. Even though they are shed and lost at times, they have the ability to grow back strong and equally as beautiful as before. Am busy writing about Robert Venturi and the concept of Decorated Sheds. The antithesis to Modernism, Venturi believes that "less is a bore". A little decoration on something functional isn't necessarily a bad thing. In relation to colourful patterns on antlers - decoration is visually inspired!

Ba doom che

Have been so busy lately that drum lessons and practice are a hazy memory. This is a reminder to practice five minutes a day, hehe.

Yellow letterbox.

Drove up to the Hunter for a couple of days and enjoyed the peace of being out of the city.

Uncomplicated happiness - the best sort :) 

Finished Paper-bag Man :)

Here is my Paper-bag Man. He has little green eyelids, stripy socks and a spotty body. The bag I originally made was a little bulky so I changed the pattern slightly. He's like a little pillow with legs  and confidence issues. Looking forward to making a couple of Paper-bag friends for the fast approaching Spring fair.

Paper-bag Man.

This is the start of Paper-bag man. He is forced to wear a paper bag as society scares him and he is afraid to show himself to the world. He fears being judged by the harsh eyes of others and so conceals his identity in the comfy brown of a paper bag. Individuals who acquire Paper-bag man have the capacity to make him feel loved and cared for and are the only ones who he will reveal his true identity to.

A bag is made. Now for the man. Updates to follow...

Kangaroo Valley.

I went to the Kangaroo Valley with Elk and Mr G on Thursday. It was really beautiful.

We only stayed a night so effectively saw the place and left but was really awesome to spend quality time with my two favorite people. Thank you both!
